Reports from The Daily Mail last weekend linked Everton with a £9million swoop for West Ham defender Winston Reid.

The 21-cap New Zealand international has been one of the better defenders outside of the Premier League’s top clubs since the Hammers returned to the top flight in 2012, also registering over 200 appearances for the east London outfit in all competitions.

Everton are arguably in need of another centre-half as well, despite already bringing in Michael Keane this summer, with Ashley Williams and Phil Jagileka not getting any younger and Ramiro Funes Mori currently injured.

With that in mind, we asked Toffees supporters earlier this week whether they’d back a transfer swoop for the 6 foot 3 centre-back.

But according to our poll, the majority of Everton fans – 61% – would be against a deal for the All Whites star. The Goodison outfit have spent lavishly already this summer, but the supporters clearly don’t think Reid is worth the investment.
