Despite failing to sign a single player this summer, Tottenham have started the season in goof form, and two players that are looking like new signings are wingers Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura.
Neither player had an easy start to life in North London, with Lamela signed in 2013 – the summer that the club lost Gareth Bale to Real Madrid. Moura on the other hand only arrived in January this year, but failed to hit the ground running and break into Mauricio Pochettino’s front three.
Lamela has struggled with injuries during his Spurs career but finally looks to have put them behind him and came off the bench to brilliantly set up Harry Kane in last weekend’s win over Fulham.
Moura, 26, is the player who Pochettino has gone with so far to replace Heung-min Son though. With the South Korean participating at the Asian Games, Moura has taken his chance to impress and scored a fantastic goal against the Cottagers.
His performances led 78 per cent of Spurs fans who voted in our poll to pick him as their man to start in Monday’s trip to Old Trafford. Check out the full results below.
